Every entry here comes from a named regulator's published register. Paysavo adds no institution of its own and infers no identifier a regulator did not publish.

Where this comes from
This directory is built only from official registers published by financial regulators. No source has been cleared for publication on this page yet@if ($results->total() === 0), which is why the list above is empty@endif — Paysavo would rather show nothing than show something it cannot attribute.
How an entry gets here
Paysavo fetches each register directly from the regulator that publishes it, over HTTPS, from an address compiled into the importer rather than one anybody can configure. The payload is checked against the columns it is expected to have; if a register changes shape, the import stops rather than guessing, and the previous data stays exactly as it was.
Records are matched between registers by Legal Entity Identifier first, then by the regulator's own reference — an FRN, a RIAD code, an FDIC certificate. Two institutions are never merged because their names look alike. When two regulators disagree about an institution, both statements are kept and the disagreement is flagged for review rather than one quietly overwriting the other.
An institution disappearing from a register is marked inactive, not deleted: it may have been renamed, merged, or dropped by a faulty publication, and the history is what makes the difference visible.
What this directory does not tell you
The Bank of England states that its list does not supersede the Financial Services Register, which remains the authoritative source. Building societies are listed separately from banks because UK law treats them separately. Being on this list says nothing about which payment schemes a society uses. As with the banks list, a society incorporated in Gibraltar would be shown with Gibraltar as its country — Gibraltar is a separate jurisdiction with its own deposit guarantee scheme, and is never folded into the UK.
It also carries no BIC, no SWIFT code, no sort code and no routing number, because none of the registers behind it publish those. If you need to check one, use the free checkers — they validate the structure and the checksum of a code you already have, which is a different question from finding one.
