Fraud prevention

How Paysavo works to prevent fraud, and how to recognise the scams that target money transfers.

What applies to you depends on your account type, verification status and jurisdiction.

Our commitments

Screening before money moves

Transactions are subject to checks appropriate to a regulated money-services business.

Verification gates sensitive actions

Identity and business verification apply to eligible services and vary by jurisdiction.

We act on reports

Reports of suspected fraud are investigated and acted on.

How it works in practice

Know who you are paying

Be cautious of anyone you have not met asking for money — pressure and urgency are the classic signs of a scam.

Question too-good-to-be-true offers

Prize, romance, investment and job-fee scams all end the same way: someone you do not really know asking you to send money.

Report it fast

If you believe you have been targeted, contact support immediately — speed matters.

Questions

Someone asked me to pay a fee to receive money. Is that real?

Almost certainly not. Being asked to pay in order to receive money is one of the most common scam patterns. Do not pay, and report it.

Can Paysavo recover money I sent to a scammer?

Recovery is not always possible, which is why prevention matters. Report it immediately — the sooner it is reported, the more options exist.

How does Paysavo spot fraud?

Through transaction checks and verification steps appropriate to a regulated money-services business. The details are not published, because scammers read pages like this too.

Open a Paysavo account

Hold multiple currencies, send and receive internationally, and pay from one account.
